1. Refund Overview

At TEDxBUET, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not entirely happy with your transaction, we offer a refund policy designed to protect your interests. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds will be processed and the refund timeline.

2. Refund Eligibility

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • You have not received the product or service you paid for
  • The product or service received does not match the description provided
  • The product or service is defective or damaged upon arrival
  • You have requested cancellation within the specified timeframe
  • The transaction was made by fraud or unauthorized use of your payment method

3. Refund Timeline

As per the Digital E-Commerce Policy 2021 published by the Commerce Ministry, Bangladesh:

All approved refunds will be processed and credited back to your original payment method within 10 (ten) working days from the date of approval. Please note that working days exclude weekends and public holidays.

The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account may depend on your financial institution and may take an additional 2-5 business days.

4. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us with your order number and reason for refund
  2. Provide any supporting documentation (photos of damaged items, proof of non-delivery, etc.)
  3. Our team will review your request and respond within 2-3 working days
  4. If approved, you will be notified and the refund process will be initiated
  5. The refund will be credited to your original payment method within 10 working days

5. Non-Refundable Items

The following items or circumstances may not be eligible for refund:

  • Products or services purchased and used without any defect or damage
  • Customized or personalized items that have been delivered
  • Digital products or services that have been fully delivered and consumed
  • Items that show signs of use beyond testing the functionality
  • Items returned outside the specified refund request window

6. Partial Refunds

In certain cases, partial refunds may be issued. This may occur if:

  • The product is returned in used or damaged condition
  • A portion of the order is affected by damage or defect
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable depending on the reason for return

7. Return Process

For items that need to be physically returned:

  • Ensure the product is in its original condition and packaging when possible
  • Include all original accessories and documentation
  • Clearly mark your order number on the package
  • Send the return to the address provided by our support team
  • Keep a tracking number for your return shipment

8. Delivery Time Commitment

As per the Digital E-Commerce Policy 2021, clause 3.1.17:

We commit to deliver all products and services within 7 (seven) days from the date of confirmed order. This timeframe is specific and binding. Failure to meet this commitment may result in automatic refund processing.

9. Refund Methods

Refunds will be issued using the following methods:

  • Original payment method (Credit Card, Debit Card, Mobile Banking)
  • Bank transfer to your registered bank account
  • Digital wallet or payment platform used for the original transaction

10. Fraud and Disputes

In case of suspected fraud or unauthorized transaction, please contact us immediately. We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action. Fraudulent refund requests may result in account suspension and legal action as per applicable laws.

11. Changes to Refund Policy

TEDxBUET reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the modified Refund Policy.

12. Compliance Notice

This Refund Policy complies with the following regulations:

  • Digital E-Commerce Policy 2021 - Clause 3.1.17 (Delivery Time)
  • Commerce Ministry Guidelines - Refund Timeline (10 working days maximum)
  • Bangladesh Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009
